Baked Brie Tart with Berry-Jam Glaze
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 wheel of brie cheese (about 8 oz)
- 1/4 cup Jack's Blackberry Pepper Jelly (or your favorite jam!)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Fresh thyme or rosemary (optional, for garnish)
- Honey (optional, for drizzling)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the puff pastry onto the prepared baking sheet. If needed, trim it to fit your pan or shape it into a circle or square.
- Place the brie in the center of the pastry. Make sure to leave a little border around the edges so you can fold it up over the cheese.
- Spread the Jam generously over the top of the brie wheel. This sweet, smoky glaze will bring the heat and flavor!
- Fold the pastry edges up and over the brie, crimping the corners gently to secure the cheese inside, leaving the top exposed so the jam can shine.
- Brush the pastry with an egg wash (simply beat the egg and lightly brush it over the dough for a golden finish).
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and flaky, and the brie is gooey and melted inside.
- Garnish with fresh thyme or rosemary for a pop of color and an aromatic touch. Drizzle with a little honey if you want to balance out the heat with a touch of sweetness.
- Serve warm with crackers, crusty bread, or apple slices.
Optional Serving Idea:
This tart is amazing as an appetizer, but you could also turn it into a show-stopping dessert by serving it with a side of fresh fruit. The combination of creamy brie, smoky-sweet jam, and flaky pastry is absolutely irresistible!
